On-Campus Asymptomatic COVID-19 Testing

DJUSD is partnering with Healthy Davis Together to bring COVID saliva testing for asymptomatic students and staff to our school sites. If you would like your child tested at one of our school sites, there are three items to complete.  Parents do not need to be present for testing once they are registered through Healthy Davis Together, and a DJUSD waiver is on file for the student.  We are not currently pulling students from instruction time at our site to allow time to transition back to school. However, if you would like your student taken out of class to COVID-19 test, please email hperry@djusd.net to make arrangements. Please go to the Healthy Davis Together website at https://healthydavistogether.org/testing/ and follow the steps to register your student.

Sick or Symptomatic Students

If your student and other DJUSD students in the household are sick or symptomatic, they must stay home for ten days and get tested for COVID-19. Symptomatic students and other DJUSD students in the household may return to school earlier than ten days with proof of a negative COVID-19 test and doctor's note confirming an alternate diagnosis as long as the symptomatic student is fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication and other symptoms improved. Please email your student's COVID test results and doctor's note or bring a hard copy to our site.

Students Traveling Out of State

DJUSD supports Yolo County guidance on travel. Unvaccinated individuals include children, so there is currently a quarantine upon return to the state. Yolo County has an outlined procedure for testing and quarantine in the link below. If the county updates its travel guidelines, your family can follow the new guidelines. https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/Pages/COVID-19/Travel-Advisory.aspx

Please plan on attending the Distance Learning program for the duration of your travel and quarantine. As a reminder, if your student travels, domestically or internationally, before they return to school, they must:

  • Get tested 3-5 days after travel and self-quarantine for seven days.
  • Self-quarantine for ten days if they don't get tested.
  • Fully vaccinated individuals do not need to self-quarantine.
