Road Work Around Pioneer CommunityPioneer Elementary School Community Message About Slurry Seal

The Slurry Seal process will affect the Pioneer Elementary community on Thursday, May 23, and Friday, May 24. However, to ease school drop-off, work will not begin until 8:30 am, and all roads will be accessible up until that time.

We hope to finish our work before school lets out, but if the road is not “cured” by the time school is dismissed, the contractor will have a detour plan in place with signage and flaggers directing cars and bikes.

On 5/23, Schmeiser Ave and part of El Cemonte will be blocked off during the day. On 5/24, parts of Cowell will be worked on, but you will have access as the crew will work on half the road at a time, using the other half
for traffic.

For 5/23, if Schmeiser Ave and El Cemonte are not open by dismissal, a detour route will be in effect, however the intersection at Cowell will remain open for students who need to travel east.

For 5/24, if the work is not finished by dismissal, flaggers will guide students and parents to one half of Cowell where work is not being done.
