Pioneer STEAM Family Night

Pioneer Elementary School will be hosting a Family STEAM Night (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics). Families can rotate through these exciting STEAM-based Maker Stations:

Art Exploration - Explore the use of force to create visual art

Garden Science - Engineer a seed, create art through flower pounding

Makey-Makeys - Create functioning circuits with unlikely objects

Cardboard Challenge - If you can think it, you can build it

Fabric Hack - Design and create

Paper Circuits - Free-building with an electrical components

Vibration Station - “See” sound in a new way

Donations of the items below will be needed to make the night a success. Please visit to sign up to volunteer and see the current list of donations needed.
Due to limited space, donations will be accepted between May 23 and May 29th.

Donations Included Are:

-Watercolor paper
-4 rolls of scotch tape
-Flower petals (refrigerate) from a home garden (not store-bought please)
- 2 rolls of wax paper
-  6 - 8 bananas
-  5 - 10 potatoes
- Small bag of carrots
- Massive amounts of cardboard, from cereal boxes, to TV/refrigerator boxes
- Wooden beads
- 3 bags of feathers
- Pipe cleaners
- 8 mesh orange/apple bags
- Paper straws
- Sequins
- Pom poms
- Tassels
- Googly eyes
- 20 rolls of duct tape, any color
- Fabric remnants: all kinds, all shapes, all sizes
- Fabric markers
-  3 - 5 packages of yarn or ribbon
- Glue sticks
- 10 rolls of masking tape

**FREE Hot dogs and chips will be available prior to the event at 5:30pm or bring your own picnic dinner**
