Pioneer Newsletter 9-18-22

Dear Pioneer Families,

Hope everyone is having a great weekend with the Fall weather coming in. Latinx Heritage Month started on Thursday (15th) to honor the history, culture and influence of past generations who came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. We had two great Perry's Path assemblies where students learned about how to earn Paw Prints, the student ambassador program, what Perry's Path means, and got to be together in the first school assembly of the school year! Perry, our prairie dog mascot, was present at one of the assemblies so the students were excited to have him as well!

We might have rain tomorrow (Monday, September 19th) so please lead your students at arrival to these areas if there is a lot of rain. Students will eat/have recess inside as well if there is rain. Dismissal procedures/locations will be the same as below if there is a lot of rain. Faculty members will be there at 8:10am to supervise students at this time for Grades K-6th grades.

Potential Rain Schedule for Monday (19th)

Kinder: Kinder Classrooms

D Center: 1st/2nd Grades

Library: 3rd/4th Grades

H Center: 5th/6th Grades

Here are some upcoming things to remember:

This week: Friday (23rd)= Picture Day and Club Perry Picnic (6pm-8pm). Please come out to our picnic- bring a blanket, food, games, etc! We are excited to have you all on our quad and to enjoy each other's company. We still need volunteers to sign up for Picture Day so if you can volunteer, please sign up!

Next Week: Wednesday (28th) is our first general PTA meeting in the Pioneer Library from 6pm-8pm. Please come to hear about all the exciting plans for the new school year and help plan events like Fall Festival and our annual Auction!

We are excited to have Fall Festival return to campus on Sunday, October 16th from 12pm-3pm. We will have games, prizes, bake sale, a rock climbing wall, haunted house, and food from Woodstock's Pizza, the Hotdogger, and Kona Ice! It'll be a great day for all and if you want to volunteer for this, please sign up here!

Also, in October, we will have Red Ribbon Week (October 24th-28th) and Safety Week (October 17th-21st) so please look out for these weeks as well!

Last but not least, we have hired two intramural people to help out during lunch. Veronica Rix (parent) and Chris Haskins (reading paraprofessional/lunch monitor) will soon be providing games and more support during lunch so please welcome them to the team! We also are also starting art classes soon so we're excited to bring that back as well.
