Pioneer Newsletter 3-5-23

Dear Pioneer Families,

We had another busy week here at Pioneer! From Perry’s assemblies/luncheon, Harper Orchestra performance, and “Read Across America” day. Next week, is our Seussical Play (Thursday (9th)-Saturday (11th) at 7pm at Harper MPR!

Please remember that March 20th-24th is Optional Parent Teacher Conference Week and there is early dismissal every day (M-F) that week at 1:30pm (except for TK/K). We also will be having our space themed book fair in the library during that week so we're excited about that as well!

Pioneer is STILL leading the way with the most trips and adopted polar bears in Davis! The Safe Routes to School program will be making a $25 donation to Polar Bears International (https://polarbearsinternational.org) for each polar bear adopted.

Fencing

If you had fun learning to fence in your school’s P.E. Fencing Class and want more, look no further–The First Friday Intro is designed just for you!! This event runs 4-6 p.m. on the first Friday of the month and will introduce participants to our ongoing fencing programs. Whether you are looking for fun fitness with your friends, local competition, or want to compete nationally or internationally, we have a class for you and this is the best way to get started.

The First Friday is an hour and a half of introductory fencing for new students to get prepared to join our intermediate groups followed by free fencing and PIZZA! Please sign up at First Friday Registration so we can plan for pizza (but we will accept people at the door assuming there is space).

The First Friday takes place at Davis Fencing Academy, the fencing club responsible for bringing fencing to our school, at 2121 2nd St Ste A-104 in Davis.
