Pioneer Newsletter 1-15-23

Dear Pioneer Families,

This week was rain, rain, and even more rain! Thanks to everyone for being so flexible with all the weather changes at arrival and dismissal. Even in the rain, we still had our local Davis firefighters come to campus and eat lunch with most of our Perry's picks so that was a lot of fun. The chosen students also got to tour the fire truck and go into the fire truck seat to check things out!

Important Dates:

Monday, January 16th: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day (No school)

Friday, January 27th: Last Day of Read-A- Thon (thanks for all of our readers/pledges so far!)

February 2023: Science Night (more details soon to come!)

Carol Levis (Author) Zoom= January 26th

We are so excited to announce that we will be hosting Caron Levis (author of This Way, Charlie) for a virtual author visit on January 26th!! She will be visiting via Zoom to discuss her book and writing process and answer questions that our students have about what being an author is really like. This Way, Charlie is one of our all school reading books for Read-A-Thon and we are excited to host her Zoom for everyone to enjoy!

Robotics Club coming to Pioneer!

Citrus Circuits is bringing back their school program, and Pioneer is thrilled to be joining this Spring. Program will be open to 4th-6th graders. We are in the process of finalizing the details, so please stay tuned.
